Vintage chic wedding at a barn
The morning of the 6th of August I was driving through yet another new place I had never visited before, just under an hour away from Rheineck. The expectation for today was big, I was sure it was going to be a beautiful wedding.
After greeting the bride at her house, a soft drizzle of rain started to pour. Meanwhile I photographed her beautiful, bright white sneakers and let the peace around us be the tone for the day.
Now imagine this, as we met the groom at a meadow nearby, the rain subsided and path laid down leading to the groom was clear, pebblestones under our shoes made melodies as we approached. The atmosphere was of high anticipation, the groom closed his eyes and no one could take that smile away from him as the bride walked in his direction.
She was wearing a wonderful A-line gown with ribbons on her shoulders. It was a dress that danced in the wind. The groom went for a light beige suit, all the more matching the ivory and eucalyptus flower theme of the wedding.
The ceremony was led by Nadine from Herzensding, who greeted me so warmly upon arriving at the ceremony location - the Hagschnurer Schüür, a renovated barn for events nestled in the canton of Thurgau (Thank you Nadine, it was so nice to meet you!). The bride walked in arm-in-arm with her father to the acoustic melodies of Andy Mc Sean, who also set the atmosphere to the Aperó following the ceremony on the gardens of the barn.
And then we headed, following the couple in an old-timer, to one of my favourite locations here in the eastern Switzerland, and that is the “Gasthaus Schupfen”. This idyllic barn is located next to the luscious Rhine river. And you can see, from a wall to wall window, the water rush by - glistening under the evening sun. Here I met Mr. Dj Shake Daniels with whom I basically connected straight away, because he speaks Spanish and knows how to set the mood at the the dancefloor.
Midnight came so fast - after a day filled with tears, laughter and memorable moments, the cake cutting came by - lit by a sparkling candle. Wedding days rush by, it is an honour to be the one documenting it!
Thank you to Manuela and Oliver for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful wedding day!
